Phone Consultations Between Visits:
If significant communication is required outside of scheduled visits, a fee of $30 per 10-minute increment will apply. Such communication is supplemental and does not replace the need for a follow up visit.Medication Refills Outside Scheduled Appointments:
Medications are prescribed to last until your next scheduled appointment. If you miss an appointment and require a refill before your rescheduled visit, an additional fee of $25 will apply.
Cancellation Policy:
A minimum of 24 business hours notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling follow up appointments. A minimum of 48 business hours notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling intake visits that are scheduled Tuesday-Friday. This is due to the extended length of this type of visit. Please cancel by 8:00am the Friday prior for a Monday scheduled intake.
If appointments are cancelled or rescheduled without adequate notice, a cancellation fee of the full amount of the visit will be charged to the card on file. Please call the office at 615-979-6957 or email us admin@siegalfamilypsychiatry.com if you need to cancel or reschedule.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as timely cancellations allow us to offer those appointment slots to other patients in need. We will strive to make telehealth an option if you are unable to make the appointment in-person.
Siegal Family Psychiatry is an out-of-network, self-pay (fee for service) provider. This means that you are responsible for paying for services at the time of the visit. However, if you’d like to submit for reimbursement to your insurance company, please let us know and we can provide you with documentation (superbill) needed to do so. This means that if you choose to submit your invoices from us to your insurance company for reimbursement, you’ll be responsible for doing so yourself, but don’t worry, there’s an app that makes that smooth and easy, check out Reimbursify. If your insurance policy has out-of-network benefits and pays for mental health care, they will pay YOU the out-of-network reimbursement rate for your visits with us after you submit the invoice. We encourage you to check with your insurer about the specifics of your plan before scheduling with us.
Why are we a fee for service practice?
Our providers and our patients feel the advantages of a cash-pay practice far outweigh the disadvantages. Self pay practice drastically reduces the necessity to tightly schedule patients and gives us time with each person or family in front of us. Practices that accept insurance have to hire more staff and providers must see far more patients in tighter time slots each day to make ends meet, sadly that takes time away from the patients and may reduce the likelihood for more positive outcomes. Anyone who goes into a vocation to help people heal, wants to have the time to make that happen. This practice also allows us to reduce wait times for appointments and maximize patient privacy. In addition, we also have the flexibility to offer in-person and telehealth appointments.
